The summer vacation child care program of SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district wrapped up recently amidst high praise from the participating youngsters and their parents.
Since early July, 10 sites in the sub-district offered lessons and 49 offered diverse activities to give parents a helping hand in taking care of their children during the summer vacation and help the participating youngsters enrich their holiday. The program benefited more than 6,100 youngsters.
At the closing ceremony, the children and teens gave diverse performances to showcase what they had learned under the program, including recitation, Ba Duan Jin (a set of exercises that offer health benefits by coordinating body movements with breathing and a relaxed mind), and stage plays adapted from stories in books.
A painting exhibition was held concurrently, gathering works from the participants of the painting classes. The youngsters also exchanged the points they had accumulated under the program for prizes.
