Galbot clinches gold medal at World Humanoid Robot GamesGalbot, a robot of Beijing Galbot Co Ltd, has made headlines by clinching the gold medal at the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games, with a standout performance in the highly competitive Pharmaceutical Sorting Challenge. Notably, Suzhou Galbot Technology Co Ltd, the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary in SIP, participated in the R&D of this robot.
Founded in May 2023, Beijing Galbot Co Ltd has emerged as a trailblazer in embodied artificial intelligence and general-purpose robotics. It is committed to developing autonomous robots that cater to a global market, with products widely used in various sectors including business, industrial operations, healthcare and beyond. The company set up the Suzhou branch in SIP’s Yangchenghu Peninsula Tourist Resort last year.
The Pharmaceutical Sorting Challenge was particularly intense, simulating real-world medical applications and scenarios. The contestants were tasked with autonomously identifying, locating and selecting medications from a vast array of multi-tiered shelves.
Galbot excelled at every stage, ranking first in the preliminary, semi-final and final rounds. Ultimately, it secured the championship with a time of 10 minutes and 22 seconds, scoring a total of 336 points -- 160 points ahead of the second-place team.
