In the event held in SIP on Aug 15 to mark the National Ecology Day, 20 families comprising children aged between 5 and 12 and their parents made a tour to Dongsha Lake to learn about nature and ecological civilization.

The event consisted of seven tasks including identifying flowers, aquatic plants and medicinal organisms.

The parents and children used a mini program on WeChat to navigate and plan their own routes, and collected natural ingredients along the way for making the “natural pizzas”. They earned points by fulfilling the tasks, and those who resolved all the challenges received certificates and prizes.

It is worth mentioning that the participants picked up litter on the way of their natural exploration to do their bit in protecting environment. They also received the Dongsha Lake Ecological Study Guide compiled by several experts for the purpose of disseminating knowledge on nature through content about Chinese Solar Terms and ancient Chinese poems.
