Recently, 125 enterprises in SIP were selected into the latest group of potential unicorn enterprises to be cultivated by Suzhou, accounting for 41% of the city’s total (303), and 231 enterprises in SIP were selected into the city’s “gazelle program”, accounting for 23% of its total (1,004). SIP ranks first across the city in terms of numbers of these two kinds of enterprises.

SIP has been enhancing efforts to nurture unicorn and gazelle enterprises, including offering R&D subsidies, financing assistance and low-cost and even free workspaces. So far, it has cultivated over 250 unicorns and unicorns-to-be and more than 1,000 gazelle enterprises recognized at different levels.
