The 2025 Suzhou Immersion Programme and the 8th Suzhou Dushu Lake Entrepreneurship Summer Camp were held in SIP from Aug 21 to 23, aimed at giving young people a leg up in pursuing innovation and launching their own businesses.
The Suzhou Dushu Lake Entrepreneurship Summer Camp is a not-for-profit project held in Suzhou Dushu Lake Sci-Edu Innovation District every July to provide training on innovation and entrepreneurship to young people from higher education institutions at home and abroad.
Starting from last year, Suzhou Dushu Lake Entrepreneurship Development Center has joined hands with NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute (NUSRI) — a research arm of National University of Singapore (NUS) in SIP — to carry out the Suzhou Immersion Programme, aiming to provide support for startup projects to settle down in SIP. Through the first session of the programme, three projects from NUS and Soochow University were registered and put into incubation in SIP.
This year’s event attracted 24 students from 12 higher education institutions including NUS, University of Leeds, Peking University, Tongji University, University of Science and Technology of China, Tianjin University, Shandong University, Renmin University of China, and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, with 15 projects focusing on biomedicine, artificial intelligence, embodied artificial intelligence, machine manufacturing and other cutting-edge technologies.
During three days, the participants learned details about SIP’s policies and environment for startups, visited several companies, and competed in a project roadshow where six projects emerged as the winners of the top three prizes, with an innovative single molecule detection platform taking the first place.
